Spoon

A spoon refers to a smoking-pipe usually made of glass, metal, ceramic, stone, or wood, distinct in its shape, which heavily favours an actual spoon. Spoons typically feature a small hole on the side - called a "rush", "carb", or "choke" - which is covered with a finger while inhaling and then uncovered at some point throughout the inhalation in order to allow fresh air to pass through the pipe and clear it of smoke.

Spoons are also very commonly referred to as "bowls", but bowl is a bit more ambiguous, as the term can refer to any smoking-pipe or the actual part of the pipe wherein the to-be-smoked material is placed.
