Green Dragon is a drink created by soaking cannabis in a high proof in order to extract the cannabinoids into a mixable beverage. It usually tastes like shit because people think it's a good idea to soak it for weeks. Green Dragon recipes vary but are generally within a half to an ounce of for every half gallon of the highest proof (and mostly tasteless) you can find. Everclear is obviously the best choice but high quality and high proof vodka would be second best. Many people let sit anywhere from 2 weeks to a month or until a thick green, this makes it taste disgusting and does not get you higher. All the THC is dissolved by the alcohol in the first few minutes. The resulting beverage should be bitter and as such drinks incorporating Green Dragon tend to have lemon juice and sugar with them. If made properly (i.e., not letting it dissolve into black sludge over the course of months) it tastes quite nice and does not need to be mixed. The potency of the should be treated like that of as it goes through the digestive system. Don't use good weed making green dragon. It simply is a waste.

Another Recipe

A tincture is an alcohol-base solution of a non-volatile medicine (in this case cannabis). In this case alcohol is not only the solvent used to separate cannabinoids from the plant matter, it is what makes this type of application (particularly in fine-mist form) more bio-available and therefore effective. In whole-plant cannabis, THC content is expressed as THCA (tetrahydrocannabolic acid) prior to decarboxilation into THC, which takes place when cannabis is heated during cooking, and smoked or vaporized ingestion. THCA is a mild analgesic and anti-inflammatory but does not have good affinity with our CB1 receptors, so in order to make a THC-rich tincture that has many of the same therapeutic effects as smoked ingestion (including rapid absorption, quick relief and ease of self-titration), we must convert the THCA in the plant matter into THC prior to extracting it through an alcohol soak. Below are detailed instructions based on a unique VICS research project that will allow you to convert the THCA from your bud or high quality leaf material into more usable THC with very little loss through vaporization. Dry heat conversion of THCA into THC:

  1. Preheat oven to 325

f exactly (purchase an oven thermometer if you're not sure).

  1. Take cannabis leaf or bud and spread in a thin, 1 inch layer on a clean cookie sheet.
  2. Put in the oven for 5 minutes exactly, remove, and transfer to glass or ceramic container to cool.

Tincture/Cannamist Recipe:

  1. Pack a mason jar loosely but completely with converted cannabis product; add a few sprigs of fresh organic mint.
  2. Add alcohol (50% is preferred, but 40% vodka works just fine) until the jar is full.
  3. Seal, shake and put in a dark, cool place for 2 weeks.
  4. After 2 weeks, strain mixture through fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth. Add 2-4 tablespoons of organic honey (to taste, but without over-sweetening the mixture).
  5. Pour into bottles fitted with fine mist spray tops.

Dosage: Spray two times on the inside of the cheek, and wait 30 seconds before swallowing. Wait ten minutes and if desired effect has not been reached, repeat on the opposite cheek. Wait ten minutes, and repeat until desired effect is achieved. Dosage will vary between users, but should remain fairly constant once established. Effect will last for between 1-2 hours. Repeat use as needed. If you feel dizzy or disoriented, immediately continue use. Do not operate heavy machinery or drive during use of this product.

ANOTHER recipe

If using fresh weed

  • Finely grind 4g of mids (de-stemmed and de-seeded weight - increases surface area)
  • Place cannabis in the freezer for 30 mins (this makes the trichomes more brittle)
  • Pre-heat oven to 325F (THC vaporizes at 380F so we need the temp to be lower than that)
  • Remove cannabis from freezer and spread onto aluminum foil roughly 3mm thick
  • Place aluminum foil sheet with cannabis into pre-heated oven directly on rack in center of oven and bake for 5 minutes (process called decarboxylization which converts inactive THCA into active THC)
  • Remove after 5 minutes and add the slightly browned cannabis into the rum mixture

If using vaped weed

  • Place 8g spent cannabis from vaporizer into mason jar (this step is optional but I have a ton of vapoo)
  • Pre-heat oven to 325F (THC vaporizes at 380F so we need the temp to be lower than that)

After this vaped or not doesn't matter

  • Add 4oz high proof alcohol (Everclear 190 proof would be the optimal choice - THC is soluble in alcohol so we're using it to extract THC from the plant material)
  • Shake up mixture profusely
  • Fill a pot with tap water and place it on the stove at medium heat (this water bath removes direct heat from coming in contact with the highly flammable alcohol and is easier to temperature regulate)
  • When the water reaches 170F (below boiling point of water but small bubbles will start to form, place the mason jar (unsealed - containing alcohol and cannabis) into the water bath
  • Finely adjust the temperature until the mixture is at a low boil (ethanol boils at 172F)
  • Continuously stir the solution and wait 20 minutes until the liquid has reduced down (you can add more alcohol if it reduced too much)
  • After 20 minutes, remove the mason jar from the pot and run it through a strainer into another mason jar/vial
  • Place the strained plant material into a coffee filter and squeeze out the remaining liquid (you can also use a garlic press or similar).

Now you have your final product! I mixed 5ml of the solution into a glass of orange juice (I was hoping the citric acid would isomerize CB and other cannabinoids into THC, but I think the pH was too high to actually do anything). It actually tasted pretty good (I couldn't taste the alcohol at all). The effects took roughly 45-60 mins to kick in completely, but it sure was strong. The high lasted for about 5 hours with maybe 1 more hour of lingering effects. I would definitely recommend this to anyone willing to try it. I would suggest titrating the dose up every 45 mins if you don't feel the effects cause I can't imagine what 10mL would have done to me :)
