Cannabis Cup
The Cannabis Cup is an annual event held in The Netherlands. Seedbanks use this event to display their newest strains because winning strains gain instant popularity and gain renown for the growers. A team of VIP judges decide which seed company brought the best marijuana, while the judges-at-large decide the Cannabis Cup, best new product, best booth, best glass, best hash and best Nederhash. 2008 had over 2,300 regular judges.
The past years people in the Netherlands have been whispering about Green House and Barney's buying the cup. Visiting one of the last 5 or 6 cannabis cups will clearly show that the biggest coffeeshops give out free samples, so Barney's and Green House being the biggest and most established shops they give out the most free samples and they usually win.
